Liquid Conversations: Exploring New Connections with Water Bodies

The Bauhaus of the Seas Sails project is excited to announce an upcoming event, “Liquid Conversations, taking place on February 13, 2025, at 6 PM at the Disseny Hub Barcelona as part of ‘The Ocean Speaks‘ exhibition. 

The event will showcase innovative artistic practices that establish new visions and relationships with seas, oceans, and other water bodies featuring renowned artist collectives SUPERFLEX, Fahrenheit 180, and Juan Pablo Pacheco Bejarano, alongside special guests Jose Luis de Vicente, Director of Museu del Disseny, and Markus Reymann, Director of TBA21, who will be representing Bauhaus of the Sea Sails in this event. Admission is free, with pre-booking required.

Programme:

6 pm. Introduction: José Luis de Vicente, Museu del Disseny.
6.05-6.50 pm. Superflex Studio (Bjornstjerne Christiansen), Main lecture: Art As Infrastructure.
6.50-7.10 pm. Bauhaus of the Seas Sails (BoS) Lisbon Pilot with drop Blue Maker Space, by Fahrenheit 180 (Jeremy Morris and Luca Carlisle) ‘À flor do azulejo, a cor do Tejo’ (On the tile’s surface, the colour of the Tagus).
7.10-7.30 pm.  The Ocean Speaks. New ecologies and new economies of the seas. Presentation of one of the works, by Institute for Postnatural Studies + Juan Pablo Pacheco Bejarano, Critical cartography of underwater Barcelona.
7.30-7.50 pm. Conversation between all the participants and José Luis de Vicente and  Markus Reymann (TBA21, Bauhaus of the Seas Sails BoS WP3).

The evening offers a unique opportunity to engage with leading artists and thinkers in the field of ecological art and design, promising an inspiring exploration of our connection to water bodies.
