Lisbon and Oeiras
The free public programme of the Portuguese pilots in the context of June 8th is developed by the Municipalities of Lisbon and Oeiras in collaboration with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.
The event aims to contribute to a moment of reflection, debate and construction of collective intelligence on the history that the Tagus and the cities of Lisbon and Oeiras share, but above all as this story lives from its intersections with the life of communities.
Three pilot projects are being developed in Lisbon and Oeiras demonstrators to date – Bluemaker Space, Regenerative Menu and A Call to the Sea – which will see their first public event on June 8th at Mar da Palha, in Lisbon, and at Baía dos Golfinhos (Dolphin’s Bay) and the Fort of São Bruno, in Oeiras.
Saturday, 8 June 2024
Mar da Palha, Lisbon
In Lisbon, the event is anchored precisely in Mar da Palha, marking the process of crossing between different types of knowledge generating both a set of outcomes (which include the collection of qualitative data about these relationships) and a set of outputs.
Activities including outdoor conversations about the riverside environment, workshops for families and children on the beach next to the fort, photography laboratory about algae and biomaterials and a Caldeirada à fragateiro (fish stew), co-created between a chef and fishermen, will mark the official and local kick-off of the Bauhaus of the Seas Sails pilot projects in Portugal.
Saturday, 8 June 2024
Dolphins Bay and São Bruno Fort, Oeiras
The Oeiras Municipality is inviting the local community to participate in a unique journey of knowledge, appealing to action and preservation in favour of rivers and oceans.
The program includes a guided tour of the Fort of São Bruno, amazement conversations about the surroundings marine environments, from the visible to the invisible, in addition to experimental cyanotype workshops, decorative painting and other curiosities about the species that inhabit the Tagus.
When boarding at the Fort of São Bruno, participants will immerse in the secret world of aquatic ecosystems, through various initiatives that reinforce maritime cultural roots and bring together the past, present and future connection with the Tagus.
