Saor a San Sebastiano celebrates Venetian tradition and sustainability
Come join us for Saor a San Sebastiano, a festive celebration of Venetian culture and environmental awareness!
On Friday, 28 March, from 14:30 until 17:00, the Saor a San Sebastiano event will take place in San Sebastiano, Venice in the San Sebastiano bocce club. The event is free of change but capacity is limited.
This special event dedicated to the traditions and flavors of Venice, is organised in collaboration with our partners – the Venice Municipality and TBA21, and is part of the Bauhaus of the Seas Sails Venice pilot.
The day promises a rich program of activities, including workshops, tastings, artistic installations, and recreational fun for all ages. Saor a San Sebastiano explores crucial themes such as the sustainability of the lagoon ecosystem, the promotion of local products, intergenerational knowledge sharing, and social inclusion.
Our partner TBA21 and their Ocean Space will host a unique experience designed to connect the public with the Pesca in Barena project curated by Barena Bianca. Barena Bianca is a collective dedicated to naturalistic artivism in the Venetian lagoon. This engaging activity will be installed in a designated garden area where participants can “fish” for objects and sculptures representing the salt marshes (barene) and their delicate ecosystem. Through this playful interaction, we aim to spark conversations about the challenges facing the barene and foster a deeper understanding of our relationship with nature.
